We all know how fast a day, a week, and a year can go by. We are a very stimulated culture, and our comfort is typically found within lots of movement and action. The thought of sitting still in silence, with our eyes closed, for 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and an HOUR can sound agonizing for us. In this space of stillness we are forced to confront the restlessness of our minds, contrasted with a body that would LOVE nothing more than to be still, listen, & breathe. When I speak of meditation, I do not come from a place of religion. The meditation that I speak of is simply an exercise in quieting the mind, and listening to the body. It is a way of getting in tune with ourselves in a very intimate way, a way that encourages us to relieve stress, and intuitively begin to connect to the complexity of our being. Put quite simply: the practice of meditation can heal our bodies and minds. I like to practice in the morning upon first waking up and again at night right before I go to bed. Even if it is just 10 minutes, this significantly changes the way I relate to time, and the way that I expend my energy. In this video I hope to help you understand more fully why meditation can be so awesome when it comes to healing skin disorders such as acne, as well as a myriad of other imbalances in the body. |
