Does it really work? Is it all it's hyped up to be?
After practicing with Elimink for over 2 years now, and having the opportunity to work with a variety of different clients, what I really desire my clients to personally understand is that: EliminInk is not a magical wand (nor is any current form of tattoo removal). It will not simply make your tattoo disappear leaving your skin to look as though nothing was ever even there in the first place.
We must consider that even from the original tattoo, there is damage to the tissue already in the skin. On top of this, the treatment route that you decide to pursue is going to alter skin tissue as well. Even in the best removal scenarios, scarring is almost always somewhat apparent. The slower the technician moves in the removal process, the better your results when it comes to eliminating scarring will be. A slower process will often entail more treatments than rushing to remove it quickly.
Tattoo Removal always means patience, money, and being able to accept that after being tattooed in an area, your skin will never look 100% like virgin skin again.
The solid reason that I love & still work with this system, is that I feel like it gives someone the best opportunity to get rid of their tattoo that is currently possible in this world. I personally would rather have a scar than "laser bruising" which appears to look just like it sounds. This is a result from the pigment being pushed deep into the skin, but never quite leaving the body. I see many clients who come from laser with this going on in thier skin. Don't get me wrong- many people have great results with laser, but it is important to understand these potential outcomes.
THE TRUTH ABOUT ELIMININK:
HOW MANY TREATMENTS:
What the system claims: 1-5 sessions
Realistically: Eliminink is a great system, although it is important to note that for removal to happen rapidly, it is likely that you will have some scarring, due to the needle penetration. In specific areas of the body, ie. eyebrows, or where clients want to strictly minimize scarring, the technician should choose to prolong the treatments to 5-10. It is important for all clients to understand that scarring, no matter what, can be a result of all tattoo removal options, including laser.
CAN ANY SIZE BE TREATED?
What the system claims: Yes.
Realistically: Although all sizes can be treated, it is important to note that the larger the area, the longer that each session will take. Only so much on the body can be treated in 1 sitting. Each 2 x 2 inch area takes up to 45 minutes to complete.
CAN ALL COLORS BE TREATED?
What the system claims: Yes
Realistically: All colors can be removed, even colors that are difficult to remove with laser. Blacks most often will pull the quickest.
DOES IT COST LESS THAN LASER?
What the system claims: Yes
Realistically: It does cost less than laser and roughly 25% less per treatment.
DOES IT HURT?
What the system claims: That it feels about the same as getting a tattoo.
Realistically: Although Elimink does use a topical anesthetic to help curve the sensations, it can often be painful, depending on the area of the body where removal is occurring. As sessions continue, an increased sensitivity in the area will also likely occur.
WHEN DO YOU SEE RESULTS?
What the system claims: A noticeable difference after one treatment.
Realistically: Depending on the tattoo, quick results are a possibility. But in my experience, it is important for clients to understand that truly, all tattoos are going to be different depending on the ink that was originally used, and the location on the body.
If you have questions regarding tattoo removal, never hesitate to book a consultation or talk with a technician in person. I hope this was helpful to those of you weighing your options, and looking at what tattoo removal really does mean, no matter what route you decide to take!
